Blackbird Dance Company
Blackbird Dance Company is a young ensemble, having been launched in the summer of 2023. We endeavor to create powerful work that addresses pressing questions, always holding fast to the healing potential of art.
The Message
Blackbird Dance Company premiered "The Message", a 45-minute meditation in movement, song and poetry that combined live and recorded music, choreographed and improvised dance, spoken word and media to address our climate grief. The work conveys stages of insouciance, recognition, paralysis and the weight of consequence.​ Performed by Company artists Aliesha Bryan, Georgia Dahill-Fuchel (pictured), Olyda Ola and Yasmina Yuexi.
